I’m excited to offer individual and group ketamine sessions with a psychospiritual and psychotherapy approach to people interested in this safe, legal and proven modality.

I’m happy to share with you some of the benefits of ketamine that I’ve seen in people and why I’m enthusiastic about its use.

I have many whys that inspire me to offer this option and opportunity for your growth, healing and transformation.

WHY?

There are several ways ketamine can be helpful to you. Its’ molecules work on the glutamate receptors in your brain in a unique way that can help with depression, anxiety, or other psychological issues.

In addition, at certain doses you can have a psychedelic experience, some describe as transpersonal, spiritual or mystical, which leads to valuable insights and new perspectives on yourself, others and life itself.

Finally, ketamine increases the neuroplasticity in your brain so that for a couple of weeks afterward you’ll be able to more easily put your insights into action to create what you envisioned.

WHY?

I have firsthand knowledge of ketamine’s beneficial and transformative effects such as:

  • relaxing and learning with the body

  • softening defenses and rigid pessimistic thinking

  • increasing clarity and understanding to reframe important issues, re-evaluate life circumstances and purpose.

  • reprocessing of trauma memories in novel ways.

  • lessening of depressive and anxious symptoms

  • developing more agency in undoing old patterns and creating new ones

  • enhancing mental, emotional, spiritual growth and healing

  • experiencing oneness, interconnectedness of all things

  • realigning with values and essence to be more aligned and in harmony

  • enjoying more self-acceptance, self-love, love for others, compassion

  • a sense of belonging and liberation from internalized cultural patterns that scapegoat, judge and criticize.

  • supporting neural regeneration & neuroplasticity in the brain

  • strengthening the will to take action with new habits and practices

Of course not everyone will experience all of the benefits listed above and some will have different benefits altogether. There are no guarantees for your own outcome. Although every ketamine session is unique, what’s similar is the personal effort it takes afterward in order to experience lasting benefits and make sustainable change.

Ketamine is a tool for transformation and not a magic treatment. But it’s a tool you, too, can enjoy learning to use on your behalf. Like any new tool, working with ketamine is a skill set you’ll develop that gets easier over time.

WHY?

After 40 years as a therapist, I’m acutely aware that the US is facing a mental health crisis. 19.1% of US adults suffer from an anxiety disorder, while 9.9% suffer from depressions. That’s over 50 million people, one third of which conventional antidepressants don’t work for them. Or they don’t work for long with a 33% remission rate.

Ketamine’s antidepressant effect can start as soon as 2-4 hrs after use and any side effects are mild and transitory. With the support of therapy and coaching, a more positive mood and lessening of anxiety can be maintained for a period of time. Additional sessions are often needed for maintenance.

I’ve trained in this psychotherapy approach to working with ketamine. I’m thoughtful and compassionate in providing this new modality for treating depression, anxiety, trauma and other mental health conditions.

WHY?

I think of ketamine dosing sessions as a journey or ceremony whether or not initiated in the psychotherapy world. If you’re interested in a psychospiritual approach, then at certain doses ketamine can open the door to non-ordinary states of consciousness.

People sometimes describe these as spiritual, mystical or transcendent experiences involving beauty, awe, interconnectedness, love. These kinds of shifts in consciousness can also expand your understanding of yourself and life in totally new ways.

I have training, mentoring and skill in facilitating at this level as well as helping you integrate experiences like this into your daily life.

The approach we use at different times will be based on what works best for you and what you want. Regardless of approach, my role is to bring my presence, experience, wisdom and skill to help facilitate your process before, during and after your ketamine session.

We work together to co-create an environment in which you can safely learn with ketamine. I assist you in creating meaning from your experience and support you in creating the changes you want to make in your life.
